Explosion-proof certification can be mainly divided into the following categories:
1. Compulsory Explosion-proof Certification (CCC-Ex)
This is a mandatory product certification for certain types of explosion-proof electrical equipment. Starting from October 1, 2009, such explosion-proof electrical equipment has been included in the CCC certification catalogue. Products listed in the catalogue must undergo CCC-Ex certification, which adopts the model of "product testing + factory inspection".
2. Explosion-proof Certificate Certification
This certification applies to products outside the CCC-Ex catalogue. The certification mode is solely product testing; an Explosion-proof Certificate will be issued if the product testing is qualified. However, it should be noted that although products outside the CCC-Ex catalogue can only apply for an Explosion-proof Certificate, there is a risk of being penalized by market regulators.
3. Classification by Application Scenario
In addition, according to the application 場所 of explosion-proof products, they can be divided into mining-explosion-proof products and non-mining-explosion-proof products:
(1) Mining-explosion-proof Products
Mining-explosion-proof products used in coal mine sites must undergo Coal Safety Certification (Mine Safety Certification). This certification includes testing the explosion-proof performance of products, standard performance tests, as well as factory inspection and annual review.
(2) Non-mining-explosion-proof Products
These products are classified in accordance with the aforementioned CCC-Ex certification and Explosion-proof Certificate Certification.
4. Exported Explosion-proof Products
For exported explosion-proof products, different types of explosion-proof certifications complying with local regulatory requirements must be applied for according to the destination country/region, such as ATEX Certification and IECEx Certification.
